Groups & Teams

Frassati Groups

Our groups usually have 8-20 people and are led by an individual person, centered on a given topic (like discipleship, or bible study), and tend to meet either on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.

  • Introducing a pretentious-ish book club for lovers of books, poetry, rich intellectual discourse, and featuring opera and classical music in the background. The structure will consist of; half-hour of social time, one hour minimum of rich intellectual discussions about the chapter read that week and social discussions afterwards. The book club will open with poetry related to each chapter, and will feature rich discussions, and social time with appetizers, wine, and tea. To join or inquire, email Jim at Jvh2@Protonmail.com.

  • Join us for an inspiring journey of faith! Our Dominican Student Brother-led Bible study is back this year, focusing on the enriching power of Gospel sources to deepen your spirituality. Led by Br. John Vianney, our meetings are conducted seminar-style and are open to all, including undergrads and Frassati members. We are an open and welcoming group who want to draw nearer to God through the scriptures; all are welcome! Come join us on Wednesday nights at 7 pm in the Siena Room at UW Newman – all are welcome!

  • New participants and beginner players welcome! We meet once a month and there is no expectation to play regularly. If you would like to join, please check the Frassati Facebook page for the next posted session, then leave a comment on the post including your experience level and if you would like help creating a character.

  • Come to read and discuss documents, letters, and encyclicals of the popes with a lively group of individuals. Don’t worry, we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We usually meet Monday evenings for a couple of hours. This is not open to drop-ins; first email Fr. Marcin, who leads the event. Contact him here: frmarcin@uwnewman.org.

  • Come for fellowship and fun at our monthly movie night, hosted at the UW Newman Center. Join us for pizza at 6 pm, followed by watching a film around 7 pm. An assortment of movies will be provided, and those in attendance will vote to decide.

PS: some people who attend are immunocompromised. Please DO NOT attend if you’re sick or have any symptoms. For the time being, watch Facebook events to find the next event.

  • We meet monthly on a Saturday for a few hours to do small projects that support the St. Vincent de Paul Society Sunday Dinner at Blessed Sacrament. Projects mostly involve cleaning and organizing their large pantry, so wear clothes that can get dirty. Afterwards, we grab lunch together.

    To join, contact frassati@uwnewman.org

  • Come meet up with young adults for a beer and a casual board game night. We change locations: sometimes at a Pub, sometimes at Newman. Feel free to bring a board game or two to play. We will be meeting biweekly as long as there is enough interest.

For the time being, watch the Facebook Events Page for the next event.

  • We gather around once a month on Saturday mornings to clean up our local Catholic cemetery. We do some light gardening (raking, turning over flower beds, whatever they need), so wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and bring your own gloves/small hand tools if possible. Afterward, we'll spend a few minutes praying for the deceased laid to rest in the cemetery and our own loved ones. To join, contact seattlefrassati@gmail.com.

  • Discover a nurturing space to deepen your spiritual journey through our Women's Small Groups. These gatherings offer a meaningful way to connect with God through prayer, open discussions, and shared exploration of texts and scriptures.

Our Women's Small Groups are designed for committed individuals, and we encourage a minimum commitment level. If you would like to join a Women's Group, reach out to us at frassati@uwnewman.org.

  • Beloved Small Group

Beloved is a small group for Catholics who are queer/are experiencing same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria. We are seeking freedom in Christ through our God-given identities and the teachings of the Church. We hope that Beloved is a space where you can find rest, truth, and love.

In this small group, we value the privacy of our members so please provide your contact info by CLICKING HERE and a small group leader will reach out to you soon!

  • Join us for our monthly Frassati Young Adult Small Group Rosary Gathering! We meet at 7pm in the beautiful UW Newman Chapel to come together in prayer and reflection as we pray the rosary. Afterward, enjoy delightful refreshments and connect with fellow attendees. Stay updated on our upcoming gatherings by visiting our Facebook events page. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to nurture your faith and build community!

  • Contact us directly at frassati@uwnewman.org to make sure on the days and times we meet, but usually, we meet at 6:15 pm on Wednesdays and Fridays, and run between 4.5-5.5 miles, at a pace of around 9-10min per mile.
