Join us for a beautiful hike to Mason Lake on August 9th, 2025. This trail between Mt. Defiance and Bandera Mountain offers a great escape from Seattle as it crests into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. We'll also have the chance to enjoy some beautiful wildflowers along the way. While the hike involves some significant elevation gain, on a clear day we can enjoy lovely views of Mt. Rainier, and Mason Lake will make an idyllic location for Mass with Fr. Justin Ryan. Following Mass, we eat lunch at the top before heading back down to the trailhead.
We will meet at the trailhead at 7:45 AM (recommended 6:30 AM departure time from Seattle) and be back in Seattle around 3:00-4:00 PM.
Please note: this could be a hot hike depending on the weather. Be prepared by bringing water and electrolytes.
